The site
Bartlett Station sits on a former MBTA bus yard in Roxbury. The Roxbury Strategic Master Plan marked it for housing and local business; residents shaped the plan through meetings and design workshops starting in the early 2000s. After environmental cleanup, construction began in 2017.
MassHousing says it has been a partner in all five phases. The site combines affordable and market-rate homes, public space and room for local businesses.
Who paid for it
Funding came from the Mayor’s Office of Housing, the Neighborhood Housing Trust, the Community Preservation Fund, the state housing office, MassHousing, CEDAC, MassSave, RBC Capital Markets and JPMorgan Chase.
