- Single-family homes, townhouses and duplexes anywhere in Massachusetts can apply.
- At least 20% of homes in each project go to first-time buyers at or below 80% of AMI, with 15-year restrictions.
- Proposals are due February 25, 2027; awards are expected in April 2027.
How it works
The money goes to developers, not buyers. Proposals are scored on how much they cut construction cost and time, how little subsidy they need, and how much of the loan they can return. Repaid funds will be lent again to later projects.
The state is especially interested in manufactured and modular homes on permanent foundations, including CrossMod homes, which combine the cost efficiency of manufactured housing with features of a traditional single-family house.
What buyers should know
Eligible affordable homes can receive up to $150,000 of subsidy each, to close the gap between development cost and appraised value or to meet affordability requirements.
This round asks developers for proposals. It does not list specific homes, prices or sales arrangements.
